Description

Loading Buffer II (6x) is a DNA loading dye for the preparation of DNA samples prior to agarose gel electrophoresis and polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (PAGE). The buffer increases sample density for efficient loading into gel wells and contains tracking dyes for convenient monitoring of DNA migration during electrophoresis.

The formulation is optimized for DNA samples dissolved in water or TE buffer and contains bromophenol blue and xylene cyanol FF as migration markers. In a 1% agarose gel, bromophenol blue migrates approximately at the position of a 300 bp double-stranded DNA fragment, while xylene cyanol FF migrates similarly to a 4 kb DNA fragment, providing reliable visual control throughout the electrophoresis run.

Loading Buffer II uses glycerol to increase sample density and is supplied as a 6x concentrate, allowing simple and convenient preparation of DNA samples prior to gel loading.
