Pvu II is a restriction enzyme purified from E. coli strain that carries the cloned Pvu II gene from Proteus vulgaris. It has a concentration of 10 U/µl. Restriction endonucleases are used in biotechnology for gene cloning, to cut DNA in smaller strands to study similarities and differences in fragment length among individuals like in RFLP (Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism). BIORONs restriction enzymes show high purity and activity.
Pvu II can not be heat-inactivated and shows 100% activity in BIORON buffers H, M and K (supplied with the enzyme).
