MspC I is a restriction enzyme purified from Micrococcus species with a concentration of 10 U/µl. It is an isoschizomer to Afl II. Restriction endonucleases are used in biotechnology for gene cloning, to cut DNA in smaller strands to study similarities and differences in fragment length among individuals like in RFLP (Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism). BIORONs restriction enzymes show high purity and activity.
MspC I can be heat-inactivated with 20 min at 65 °C and shows 100% activity in BIORON buffers H, SH and K (supplied with the enzyme).
