BstE II is a restriction enzyme purified from Bacillus stearothermophilus with a concentration of 10 U/µl. Restriction endonucleases are used in biotechnology for gene cloning, to cut DNA in smaller strands to study similarities and differences in fragment length among individuals like in RFLP (Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism). BIORONs restriction enzymes show high purity and activity.
BstE II can not be heat-inactivated and shows 100% activity in BIORON buffer K (supplied with the enzyme). Please note that BstE II exhibits 10 – 15% activity at 37°C.
