Description:
DF-Psp DNA Polymerase Psp DNA Polymerase is a thermostable enzyme isolated from Pyrococcus species. The enzyme is quite similar to DF-Pfu DNA Polymerase, it replicates DNA at 75°C, catalyzing the polymerization of nucleotides into duplex DNA in the 5´-->3´ direction. Psp DNA Polymerase possesses 3'--> 5' exonuclease (proofreading) activity. Nucleotide misinsertions that may occur during polymerization are excised by the proofreading activity of the enzyme. DF-Psp DNA Polymerase is recommended for use in PCR and primer extension reactions that require high-fidelity synthesis. DF-Psp DNA Polymerase-generated PCR fragments are blunt-ended.
